25 DAYS oF CHRISTMAS BOOKS
I have heard of the 24 Days of Christmas tradition and am going to start this year with my family. I am going to wrap 24 books and place in a basket. I will have T’was the Night Before Christmas wrapped but labeled Christmas Eve as well as the Christmas Story wrapped and labeled Christmas morning.
Each night, beginning December 1st we will unwrap 1 book and read it in the evening as a family (yes even my teen will have to sit thru). Each night a different family member could pick the book from the basket until everyone has had a turn, this is important for younger kids, and if you need to avoid a fight just pick the next book on top or even label the books 1-25.
This is a great thing to do anytime and you can use any books you like, re use the same books every year or add in a few new ones. Because they are wrapped up it will be a surprise each night. We do always read the Night before Christmas on Christmas eve and Christmas morning I would like to add in the Christmas story, making mine 25 days instead of 24.
Here is what will be in our basket this year:
