How to Build a Character
March 22 & April 5, 12, 19
Learn how to create three-dimensional people in a two-dimensional medium!
In week one and two, we will discuss characters in relation to plot
structure and narrative point of view. We will also review character
archetypes, psychology-focused world building, and how to avoid weak
secondary and antagonist characters. In week three, we will apply these
theories to another sample novel. And of course, in the final week, we
will begin building the people who will populate the novel we have
cradled in our minds for so long!
