How To Build A Conversation
April 25 & May 2, 9, 16
This is the 3rd in the How To Build A Book Workshop Series
Learn how to carry on a dialog without saying a word! For the first half of this workshop, we will learn the theories of interpersonal communication as they apply to those quasi-humans known as characters. We will cover how to convey unspoken messages through narrative and the most effective ways of laying out dialog to maintain pacing. In the last two weeks of the workshop, we will analyze sample chapters to determine which methods were applied successfully and which were not. We will use these tools to create our own trial communications between characters from different points of view.
The How to Build A Book Series of Workshops are led by Hillsboro author Tonya Macalino. For more information on our workshop Leader visit http://www.tonyamacalino.com
Thursdays from 7 - 8:30 p.m, except One-Day workshops which are from 9:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. (Times are estimates and can vary based on participation.)
