How to Build a Scene
May 23, 30 & June 6, 13
Learn how to sculpt the basic building blocks of story! In the first two weeks, we will discuss the types of scenes available to a writer and ways to arrange scenes for optimal impact. We will also go over the structure of a scene, setting the stage, and introducing information through a point of view character. In the third week of the workshop, we will study sample chapters to observe these theories in practice. And finally in the last week, we will begin utilizing these tools to build scenes for our own works.
The How to Build A Book Series of Workshops are led by Hillsboro author Tonya Macalino. For more information on our workshop Leader visit http://www.tonyamacalino.com
Thursdays from 7 - 8:30 p.m, except One-Day workshops which are from 9:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. (Times are estimates and can vary based on participation.)
